The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) took to Long Island, New York last night, for the first time in the promotion’s history. UFC on FOX 25 made for the city’s debut. In the night’s main event, New York native and former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman went toe-to-toe with Kelvin Gastelum.
Chris Weidman pulled himself out of a three fight losing streak with a third round submission finish over Kelvin Gastelum, giving the Nassau Coliseum a main event victory from one of its own New York natives. Now, UFC veteran Matt Serra has come forward in an interview with Ariel Helwani to call the former champion a “(expletive) super hero.”
