While doing his homework, John Kavanagh found a legal way to take an opponent down in a boxing match.
Kavanagh is the head coach of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor, who is currently training to make his professional boxing debut.
Next month, McGregor will step into the ring with boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
While watching boxing footage to prepare for Mayweather, Kavanagh came across a legal takedown. During a fight, one fighter moved in close engaging in a clinch. The fighter then caused Mayweather to fall while on the ropes.
Kavanagh recording himself watching the footage and made it seem that he may use that technique in training.
Even though McGregor has no professional boxing experience, he is one of the best MMA fighters in the world today. McGregor is the only fighter in UFC history to hold two titles at the same time.
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
