Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey recently revealed she didn’t receive much for winning a medal in the Olympics.
Before Rousey became one of the best MMA fighters in the world, Rousey was one of the best competitors in the world of judo. In 2008, Rousey won a bronze medal in the Olympics competing in the sport.
“I can tell you that an Olympic medal gets you jack (expletive),” Rousey said in an interview with Yahoo!. “It only gets you a free drink for about a month.”
Rousey joked about her Olympic career while on set for the ABC reboot of Battle of the Network Star. The show, which returned to TV this past week, features celebrities competing against each other in physical challenges. Rousey is serving as one of the coaches on the show opposite of former NFL star DeMarcus Ware.
