On Saturday, former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler returned to the Octagon.
At UFC 214, Lawler fought Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in a hard-fought battle for three rounds.
The fight started with Lawler swarming Cerrone with punches. Cerrone managed to survive the initial onslaught and came back with some offense of his own. Cerrone went on to out land the former champion in the second round.
The third round was razor close, but in the end, the judges decided that Lawler had done enough to earn the unanimous decision victory.
This was Lawler’s first fight since losing his title one year ago. At UFC 201, Lawler was knocked out by UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley.
