Klose Ends Diakiese’s Hype, Then Charges Him Again, Security Forced To Step In

UFC International Fight Week is upon us and on Friday the UFC hosted The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale in Las Vegas.

The night featured an exciting lightweight battle in the main event and the crowning of a new TUF champion, but the night also featured a full night filled with exciting matchups.

The main card featured a lightweight fight between two undefeated fighters as Marc Diakiese fought Drakkar Klose.

Klose started the fight with landing a couple leg kicks. Klose then landed a takedown. Diakiese fought his way up but struggled to break Klose’s grip. Klose then landed foot stomps, which allowed Diakiese to get a takedown of his own. Klose got to his feet but was taken down again. He once again stood up but couldn’t stop Diakiese from getting another takedown. Diakiese could not keep his opponent on the ground. On their feet, Klose dropped Diakiese with a leg kick. He then smothered him on the ground with punches. At the end of the round, Diakiese got to his feet and ended up on top of Klose.

After both fighters struggled to land, Klose went for a takedown early in round two. Diakiese stopped the takedown but was held up against the cage. Eventually, Diakiese escaped and got the fight back to the center of the cage. Diakiese went for a spinning kick which allowed him to get taken down. Klose then allowed Diakiese to stand back up. The action was briefly stopped due to a low blow to Klose. Diakiese began to have more success with his striking towards the end of the round. Another spinning kick resulted in Diakiese being on the mat. Diakiese was dropped with another leg kick at the end of the round.

Diakiese landed a clean switch kick to Klose’s jaw early in the final round. Klose responded with going for a takedown, but Diakiese remained on his feet. Later, Klose landed a takedown but Diakiese reversed the position. Diakiese secured his opponent’s back with the two standing. Diakiese later let go and landed a head kick. Klose then secured a clinch of his own and got his opponent to the cage. Diakiese escaped and the two fought in the center of the cage. Diakiese continued to throw flashy offense at the end of the round. Klose shot for a takedown in the final seconds, Diakiese went for a guillotine choke but couldn’t secure it. The fight ended with Klose going for another takedown but ran out of time.

Following the decision being read, Klose charged his rival and tried to fight him again. Security and UFC officials quickly stepped in.
