Undefeated boxing phenom Floyd Mayweather Jr. has come out of retirement to step into a boxing ring once more. This time, Mayweather will be taking on UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
However, it was recently reported that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has asked the IRS to wait for his earnings from the boxing match to square away owed money from the boxer’s 2015 taxes.
Now, Sports Illustrated has provided a more in-depth look into Mayweather’s situation.
“Mayweather has asked a tax court for a reprieve on his 2015 federal income taxes, saying his current assets are ‘restricted and primarily illiquid.'” Sports Illustrated reported.
