The UFC has confirmed two major fights set to take place at an upcoming UFC Fight Night on Sept. 16 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In a pivotal fight in the UFC welterweight division, former UFC title challenger Thiago Alves is set to fight rising star “Platinum” Mike Perry.
Perry is currently coming off the biggest win of his UFC career. In April, Perry knocked out longtime welterweight contender Jake Ellenberger.
Perry has been near perfect in his MMA career. He has a professional record of 10-1 with all of his wins coming by knockout or TKO.
Alves is currently coming off a decision win over fellow former title challenger Patrick Cote in April.
The UFC has also confirmed an intriguing middleweight battle in Pittsburgh.
Former Bellator Middleweight Champion Hector Lombard is set to compete against Anthony Smith.
Lombard is on a three-fight losing streak in the UFC. He is coming off losses to Neil Magny, Dan Henderson, and Johny Hendricks.
Smith is coming off consecutive knockout wins in the UFC. In his last fight, he knocked out Andrew Sanchez.
