On Sunday, the UFC returned to Glasgow, Scotland for a special afternoon edition of UFC Fight Night.
The televised prelims opened with a lightweight fight between Danny Henry and Daniel Teymur.
Teymur came out aggressive to start the fight. As the smaller fighter, Teymur rushed in an swarmed Henry. With Teymur fighting so close, Henry struggled to his size advantage. Midway into the round, Teymur got the fight to the ground. Eventually, the referee stood the fighters to their feet. Both fighters landed shots, but Teymur landed the harder and cleaner shots to finish the round.
Henry landed a few shots early in round two, but Teymur responded with brutal punches of his own. Teymur used uppercuts to do damage to the taller fighter. Henry went for a takedown, but Teymur stayed on his feet. Teymur then landed a spinning elbow. Henry rocked Teymur and got the fight to the ground. Henry took Teymur’s back but Teymur got to his feet. Henry unloaded on his feet and knocked Teymur to the ground. He then got full mount, but Teymur rolled to his stomach. Henry went for a rear-naked choke but ran out of time.
Henry landed clean combinations to start the final round. Henry got more aggressive as time went on. He then landed a takedown, but Teymur fought to his feet before getting his back taken. Henry locked in a rear-naked choke, but Teymur escaped and rolled to his back. Henry continued to land hard shots from on top. Teymur showed a lot of heart by not giving up, but he couldn’t get Henry off of him. The fight ended with Henry attempting another rear-naked choke.
