UFC International Fight Week is upon us and on Friday the UFC hosted The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale in Las Vegas.
The night featured an exciting lightweight battle in the main event and the crowning of a new TUF champion, but the night also featured a full night filled with exciting matchups.
The semifinalist of this past season of TUF fought on the prelims as James Krause fought Tom Gallicchio.
Gallicchio was the aggressor to start the round.Krause hesitated to attempt a guillotine choke which allowed Gallicchio to secure top position. He then took Krause’s back. Krause managed to fight his way back to his feet. Krause then landed a clean head kick. Gallicchio went for a takedown but Krause stuffed it. Krause began to pick Gallicchio apart with his punches. Gallicchio went for another takedown but failed to get the fight to the ground. The round ended with Krause landing multiple hard hands.
Gallicchio continued to be aggressive to star the second round, but Krause had no struggles landing jabs. Gallicchio struggled to land takedowns or dodge punches throughout the round. Later in the round, Krause busted his opponent open. Krause mixed up his striking with punches and kicks to the head and body to finish the round.
Krause continued to work his jab at the start of the final round. Gallicchio tries to land a takedown, but he couldn’t get Krause to the ground. Krause began landing leg kicks along with his jabs. Gallicchio ate punches whenever he would drop down for a takedown. The fight ended with Krause landing brutal strikes on his opponent.
