After two years, the UFC has returned to Glasgow, Scotland to host a special Sunday afternoon UFC Fight Night event.
One of the toughest women in the UFC, Leslie Smith, opened Sunday’s UFC card in a bantamweight fight against Amanda Lemos.
Lemos started the fight with a hard low kick. Lemos began lighting Smith up with combinations, but Smith responded with some punches of her own. Both fighters traded significant strikes in the first half of the round. Lemos landed clean shots, but Smith kept moving forward. Smith would get Lemos close to the cage and would then unload punches and knees. At the end of the round, Lemos landed a takedown. Smith fought her way up to finish the round.
Smith came out the aggressor in the second round, but Lemos landed the first clean shots of the round. Smith later unloaded a plethora of punches with Lemos against the cage. Lemos and Smith continued to trade punches, but Smith seemed to get the better of the exchanges. Lemos managed to bust Smith open, but Smith continued to be the more active fighter. Eventually, the referee stepped in and stopped the fight when Smith unloaded on Lemos against the cage.
Official Result:
