UFC International Fight Week is upon us and on Friday the UFC hosted The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale in Las Vegas.
The night featured an exciting lightweight battle in the main event and the crowning of a new TUF champion, but the night also featured a full night filled with exciting matchups.
Light heavyweights got an opportunity to shine on MMA biggest stage as Jared Cannonier fought Nick Roehrick.
Roehrick landed the first clean shots of the fight after landing a few jabs. Cannonier later landed some punches of his own. Roehrick showed off a good chin while absorbing brutal punches and even a head kick. Roehrick continued to throw shots but struggled to hit his mark.
Cannonier landed a leg kick followed by some jabs to start the second round. Roehrick continued to struggle to land his shots. Canannier later landed devastating punches to his opponent’s body. Cannonier landed a clean right hand followed by a takedown. Roehrick fought his way back to his feet but continued to absorb punches. Roehrick eventually landed a clean right hand, but it didn’t seem to hurt Cannonier. The round ended with Cannonier landing a kick to the body.
Cannonier opened the final rounds with multiple kicks. He rocked Roehrick with a brutal front kick to the face. Cannonier pummeled his opponent on the ground and earned the TKO win.
