Two of the best strawweight fighters in the world have agreed to fight each other.
On Monday, former UFC title challenger Claudia Gadelha posted a photo on her Instagram account requesting a fight with fellow former title challenger Jessica Andrade.
“I’m waiting to hear about my next fight since I got out of the octagon in my last fight,” Andrade wrote on her Instagram page. “Nobody stepped in until now but I read today that (Jessica Andrade) wants to fight me. She is got some guts!! Let’s make it happen.”
Andrade responded to Gadelha’s post accepting what would be a pivotal battle in the women’s strawweight division.
“It’s hard to fight a fellow compatriot,” Andrade said on Instagram. “But if this fight happens I’m sure it will be a great battle. Yes, I accept it.”
Gadelha is currently ranked No. 1 in the official UFC women’s strawweight rankings, while Andrade is ranked No. 4.
