UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor is confident going into his fight with Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
In two weeks, McGregor will fight in his first professional boxing match when he steps into the ring with Mayweather.
This week, both Mayweather and McGregor held media days to promote their upcoming fight. On Mayweather’s media day, he said he was going to go after McGregor early in the fight. On McGregor’s media day, he said he would do the same.
“He’s saying he’s going to come at me. I’m telling you all I’m going to go at him. Let’s see who takes the first back step,” McGregor said.
“That will be the first win or loss in the fight. Who takes a back step first? So you can all sit there at ringside and go ‘Floyd took a back step first. That’s the first defeat of the fight.’”
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
