Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir has signed with Bellator MMA.
On Tuesday, MMA Fighting reported that Mir has signed a deal to join Bellator.
Mir was recently released by the UFC after asking to be let go by the premier MMA organization.
Mir is currently under suspension by the U.S Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) but will be free to fight anywhere when his suspension expires next year.
Mir has decided to take his talents to Bellator and join their growing heavyweight division. Other UFC heavyweights such as Matt Mitrione and Roy Nelson have also made the switch to Bellator.
Mir has not fought since March 2016. He is coming off a knockout loss to UFC heavyweight contender Mark Hunt.
