One of the UFC’s top welterweight prospects believes he is the American version of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.
On Thursday, “Platinum” Mike Perry claimed to be a better version of McGregor.
“What if I told you I’m the bigger, stronger, American version of McGregor,” Perry wrote on Twitter.
While Perry has been impressive in his UFC career so far, he has quite a ways to go before he can claim to be on the same level as one of the UFC’s best pound-for-pound fighters.
Similar to McGregor, Perry does have dangerous knockout power. All of Perry’s 10 MMA wins have come by knockout or TKO.
In his last fight, Perry earned the biggest win of his MMA career when he knocked out longtime UFC welterweight contender Jake Ellenberger.
Perry is scheduled to fight former UFC title challenger Thiago Alves at a UFC Fight Night event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Sept. 16.
