Former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi will no longer be training with UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.
Malignaggi had traveled to Las Vegas to help McGregor prepare for his professional boxing debut later this month.
This week, photos had leaked of McGregor and Malignaggi sparring. In the photos, Malignaggi was on the receiving end of McGregor’s offense.
Malignaggi was not happy about the photos and decided to leave McGregor’s camp. He later talked to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, who revealed Malignaggi side of the story of ESPN’s SportsCenter.
“I’m not just a sparring partner at this point, I’m also a prop because you keep putting up photos that make me look bad,” Okamoto said Malignaggi told him.
In the video below, you can listen to Okamoto discuss the entire situation between McGregor and Malignaggi.
McGregor is scheduled to fight boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas.
