UFC heavyweight prospect Francis Ngannou has challenged former UFC title challenger Alistair Overeem to a fight at UFC 215.
Ngannou was originally scheduled to fight former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos at UFC 215, but Dos Santos was forced to withdraw.
On Friday, the UFC announced that Dos Santos had potentially failed a drug test given to him by the U.S Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). As a result, the UFC took Dos Santos off of UFC 215.
Since he no longer has an opponent, Ngannou went to Twitter and challenged Overeem to a fight in Canada.
“(Alistair Overeem has) been mentioning my name everywhere. I’m now open and free for you guy. Let do this at #ufc215,” Ngannou said in a tweet directed at Overeem.
UFC 215 will take place Sept. 9 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. In the main event, UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson will defend his title against Ray Borg.
Also, UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes will fight Valentina Shevchenko in the co-main event.
