UFC commentator Joe Rogan has shared his thoughts on the sparring footage between UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi.
During a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan discussed the sparring session footage with former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub.
“When he hit that straight left and snapped Paulie’s head back, I was like, ‘hey Paulie, why didn’t you talk about that?’” Rogan said.
After sparring with McGregor, Malignaggi did multiple interviews where he claimed he wasn’t knocked down by McGregor and downplayed the UFC champion’s power.
Rogan and Schaub seemed to be impressed with McGregor’s technique inside the boxing ring. In the video below, you can listen to both men talk about the sparring session, and talk about McGregor’s upcoming fight against Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
On Aug. 26, McGregor will make his professional boxing debut when he fights Mayweather at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
