UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway has shared his thoughts on the sparring footage between UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and former boxing champion Paulie Malignaggi.
On Friday, UFC President Dana White released footage of McGregor landing multiple clean shots on Malignaggi.
In the video, which can be seen above, Malignaggi falls to the canvas.
Malignaggi claims that he was pushed down, but McGregor and his team say he was knocked down.
After watching the footage, Holloway agreed with his fellow UFC champion.
“I guess getting punch is the new push,” Holloway said on Twitter.
McGregor is currently training to make his professional boxing debut. On Aug. 26, he will fight Floyd “Money” Mayweather in Las Vegas.
In 2013, Holloway and McGregor fought at a UFC Fight Night event. In the end, McGregor earned a decision win, and Holloway hasn’t lost since.
Holloway won the UFC title in June by defeating Jose Aldo by TKO. Both Holloway and McGregor are the only UFC fighters to defeat Aldo inside the Octagon.
