At UFC 215, UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes will fight Valentina Shevchenko in a rematch from their battle last year.
In March 2016, at UFC 196, Nunes won a hard-fought decision against Shevchenko. It was this win that earned Nunes her opportunity at the UFC title.
In the video below, you can watch the first fight between Nunes and Shevchenko in its entirety.
After defeating Shevchenko, Nunes went on to defeat Miesha Tate at UFC 200 to become UFC champion. She has since defended her title once. At UFC 207, Nunes knocked out former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey.
Shevchenko has also won two fights since her battle with Nunes. In July 2016, Shevchenko won a decision against former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm. In January, she submitted Julianna Pena.
Nunes was scheduled to defend her title against Shevchenko at UFC 213 in July, but Nunes withdrew from the fight due to illness.
UFC 215 will take place Sept. 9 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. In the main event, UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson will defend his title against Ray Borg.
