It appears UFC strawweight Angela Magana has not pressed charges against UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino.
Earlier this year, Justino assaulted Magana while attending a fighter’s retreat in Las Vegas.
Prior to the retreat, Magana had posted a photo of “Cyborg” online and mocked her appearance. She claimed Justino resembled the Jigsaw character from the “Saw” movies.
At the retreat, Justino responded by confronting Magana and punching her in the face.
After the incident, Magana said she was pressing felony assault charges on the featherweight fighter.
However, as of today, no charges have been filed against Justino for the incident that took place back in May.
Justino’s attorney spoke to MMAjunkie and speculated on why no charges have been filed.
“Could be for any number of reasons,” Justino’s attorney, Josh Tomsheck, said. “The city could be evaluating further to make a decision, they could be waiting for some type of evidence. They could have already made a decision and just not facilitated the filing of the proper paperwork by today’s date, and there’s no onus on them to do it by today’s date.”
