Former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman may have been victorious in his last bout, but he still took some damage.
Last month, Weidman submitted Kelvin Gastelum in the main event of a UFC on FOX show in Long Island, New York.
However, before he was victorious, a photo was taken of Weidman’s face getting mangled by a punch from Gastelum. The photo can be seen below.
“I saw that picture,” Weidman said on a recent edition of The MMA Hour. “I was like, ‘Wow.’ My face got put into like seven different directions at one time.
“It was like a rippling effect going on, and I’m the ugliest human being ever in that picture, so I was like, ‘This is an interesting thing, I’ve got to put this up.’ I’ve got no shame. It’s part of the game, you’ve got to get punched sometimes.”
Weidman’s win over Gastelum ended a three-fight losing streak in the UFC. With his latest win, Weidman is once again one of the top contenders in the UFC’s middleweight division.
I know Chris Weidman just won, but @allelbows may have captured one of the craziest punchfaces I've ever seen. pic.twitter.com/oxEa7FuPNW
