With Paulie Malignaggi no longer in the training camp, John Kavanagh has stepped in to spar with UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.
On Friday, Kavanagh, McGregor’s head coach, shared a photo of himself sparring with the UFC champion.
“A pleasure and a privilege to be able to move around a little with the (Conor McGregor),” Kavanagh wrote on his Instagram page.
“Every time we go away and isolate ourselves like this for a training camp it’s a great opportunity to really immerse myself in training and play around with some concepts to bring back to the team. In 3 weeks time we’ll be getting ready to get on those scales.”
McGregor is currently training to make his professional boxing debut. On Aug. 26, McGregor is scheduled to fight Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
McGregor’s training camp has made headlines this week due to Malignaggi leaving the camp after photos were leaked of himself sparring with McGregor. In the photos, Malignaggi appeared to have taken damage from the UFC champion.
