UFC light heavyweight contender Jimi Manuwa and former boxing champion David Haye have agreed to fight in a boxing match.
On Friday, at a BAMMA event in London, both Haye and Manuwa were at the show and were seen talking to each other.
When the two fighters went there separate ways, Manuwa was asked what they were talking about and Manauwa said Haye agreed to fight him in early 2018. Manuwa has been telling the media that he’s interested in having a boxing match like McGregor did with Mayweather this past August.
Despite being one of the UFC’s top contenders at 205 pounds, Manauwa has not been shy about wanting to compete in the sport of boxing.
Manuwa is currently ranked No. 4 in the official UFC light heavyweight rankings. He is coming off a knockout loss to Volkan Oezdemir back in July. Prior to the loss, Manuwa had defeated both Ovince Saint Preux and Corey Anderson by knockout.
Haye is also coming off a loss. In March, he was defeated by Tony Bellew by TKO. Despite the recent loss, Haye is a multiple time boxing champion. He has an impressive 28-3 record with 26 of his wins coming by knockout.
