It would appear that a Delaware MMA (mixed martial arts) fighter has plead guilty to serious offense.
As reported by MyMMANews.com, Gemiyale Adkins has plead guilty to a count of second-degree and a count of fourth-degree rape. The counts surfaced from a case of sexual assault that occurred in the summer of last year. Adkins is reported of having sexually assaulted a child during the incident.
Gemiyale Adkins will face a sentence in November. Adkins is expected to face a minimum of 10 years in prison. The Deleware MMA fighter will also be required to register as a Tier III sex offender.
Gemiyale Adkins had a short run with Bellator MMA. Adkins faced a unanimous decision loss to Jay Silva at Bellator 44 in 2011. The fighter reappeared at Bellator 118 in 2014, facing a majority decision loss to Dante Rivera.
Gemiyale Adkins most recently suffered a first round submission loss to Hayward Charles at Hero FC 5 in 2015.
