Michael Phelps, who is multiple time Olympic gold medalist in swimming, has offered UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor a massive head start if they two were to compete in a race.
Last month, McGregor made his professional boxing debut, and even though he wasn’t victorious, he had shining moments throughout his fight. With McGregor being willing to leave the sport of mixed martial arts to compete in other sports, Phelps challenged McGregor to a race on social media shortly after his last fight.
While McGregor hasn’t accepted his challenge, Phelps recently talked about the potential race at the opening for an Under Armor store in Dubai.
“If we did it in a year, and I trained for a year or even six months, I could probably go 48 seconds if I had to,” Phelps said. I don’t see him breaking a minute. So I could probably beat him with a 50-meter head start.”
All of this talk… Should we race as well?? @TheNotoriousMMA pic.twitter.com/l3JoMgb1qT
