UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson may defend his title against Ray Borg next month at UFC 216.
Johnson was scheduled to defend his championship against Borg last weekend at UFC 215. However, Borg suffered an illness just two days before the fight and was forced to withdraw.
Ariel Helwani, of MMA Fighting, has reported that the UFC is planning on rescheduling the fight to take place on at UFC 216.
UFC 216 will take place Oct. 7 in Las Vegas. Currently, the event is headlined by an interim lightweight title fight featuring Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee.
Johnson will attempt to break the UFC record for the most consecutive title fights in his next outing. With 10 successful title defenses, Johnson currently holds the record for most UFC title defenses alongside former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.
Borg is currently on a two-fight win streak. He is coming off decision wins against Jussier Formiga and Louis Smolka.
