Retired UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub was one of the most popular heavyweights in the division, but now spends his time hitting the airwaves with interviews and fight analysis as part of his own podcast.
In a new episode of his show “The Big Brown Breakdown” Schaub explained how he made his mother-in law remove all of the Reebok gear she was wearing and promptly threw it all outside.
We can’t make this stuff up, y’all
Schaub explained, “My girl’s mom wore Reebok to my house. I made her take them off and I threw them outside. When I’m in, I’m in man. I was hurt man. There was fire. I know that sounds petty as sh*t.”
This was coming off the UFC’s announcement of the Reebok deal, and Schaub, one of the more outspoken UFC fighters at the time, showed Joe Rogan his tax returns to show how much money he was losing in sponsorship money. Schaub was also one the better paid fighters in the division and was getting paid good money from his previous UFC sponsors.
Schaub never fought again.
Here’s the full video of Schaub breaking down the situation, and also talking to guests Rory MacDonald and Bellator champion Douglas Lima about their upcoming title fight.
