White Makes Bloody Mess Of Clarke, Earns Dominant Second Round Stoppage In Fox Opener

The UFC returned to Canada on Saturday night for UFC 215. The card was stacked with champions, contenders, and up-and-coming prospects.

The FOX Sports 1 prelims opened with a lightweight battle featuring Mitch Clarke and Alex White.

Both lightweight fighters traded strikes early in the first round. Clarke later engaged a clinch and threw knees, while White threw body punches. Clarke began to throw head kicks and managed to land a couple. White had success with his left hand. White then landed a hard combination with both hands. Clarke gained under hooks and tried to get the fight to the ground, but was not successful. The round ended with Clark once again engaging a clinch and landing knees.

Clarke landed a low kick and White responded with a punch to start off the second round. Both fighters had shining moments to start off the middle round. Clarke went for a clinch again. White landed multiple brutal elbows that bloodied Clarke. White landed a shot to the body that dropped Clarke, but White allowed his opponent to get up. As the round went on, White continued to land devasting strikes. In the final 30 seconds, White landed a combination that dropped Clarke. The referee then stepped in and stopped the fight.
