UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson will no longer have a chance to make history on Saturday night.
At UFC 215, Johnson was scheduled to defend his title for the 11th consecutive time when he fought Ray Borg in the main event. If Johnson was victorious, he would have broken the UFC record for the most consecutive title defenses.
However, less than two days before the event, Borg withdrew from the fight and the bout was canceled.
The title fight between UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko has now been moved up to the main event.
Many people, including UFC fighters, were shocked when they found out the UFC 215 main event was canceled. Below, you can see how UFC fighters reacted on Twitter after hearing the news.
UFC 215 will take place Sept. 9 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
