UFC 215 took place on Saturday night, and once again, the UFC put on an event full of intriguing matchups.
The UFC Fight Pass prelims were headlined by a heavyweight battle between Luis Henrique and undefeated prospect Arjan Bhullar.
Both heavyweights were hesitant to engage early in the first round. Henrique was the first fighters to throw punches. Henrique and Bhullar later traded hard shots. As the round went on, both fighters traded jabs. Bhullar went for a takedown but Henrique stuffed it. Bhullar later swarmed Henrique and got him against the cage. In the final seconds of the round, Henrique escaped and got back to the center of the cage.
Henrique threw a couple of combinations to start the second round. Bhullar controlled the cage, and both fighters landed clean punching combinations. Bhullar then dropped Henrique with a right hand and swarmed him. Henrique fought to his feet and Bhullar landed a massive takedown. For the remainder of the round, Bhullar smothered Henrique on the ground.
Henrique threw swinging hooks early in the round and landed a hard kick to the body. As the round went on, Henrique continued to land clean punches. Bhullar engaged a clinch against the cage, but Henrique quickly escaped. In the final minute, both fighters traded punches while fighting close together. The fight ended with both fighters landing shots.
