A little bit of late breaking news this Thursday evening.
While this does not implicate a fight in the works, according to boxing’s Paulie Malignaggi, his team has officially reached out to the UFC to negotiate a fight against UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor.
Just like with Floyd Mayweather, Paul Malignaggi is represented by renowned boxing manager Al Haymon. According to Paulie, Al has contacted UFC president Dana White to try and move forward with the highly anticipated grudge match.
Malignaggi is a former boxing champion, who retired earlier this year.
His feud with Conor McGregor needs no introduction at this point, and a Conor vs. Paulie fight is on a short list of potential next moves for Conor McGregor.
Paulie revealed the bombshell on twitter this evening after a fan posed the following question (provided for context).
Serious Question. Do you ever see you and CM getting it on in the ring or is there just to many complications?

To which Malignaggi replied with:
“It happens if he wants it. I have spoken to my team, like Mayweather I am with Al Haymon. I know Haymon has reached out to Dana White.”

Conor vs. Paulie will likey do great business, as will Conor vs. Nate and Conor vs. Canelo. All potential options for the UFC star.
Stay tuned.
