Phil Brooks, better known by his WWE moniker “C.M. Punk,” had a rough debut in mixed martial arts. The WWE superstar had his first professional MMA bout inside the octagon, home to some of the world’s toughest and most talented competitors.
Brooks went toe-to-toe with Mickey Gall, who had just put on a dominant performance over Mike Jackson in his octagon debut earlier that year. Well things went much the same for Gall, who earned his second consecutive first round submission over “C.M. Punk.”
That all considered, it would appear that Brooks has no intention of backing down from his hopeful career as a mixed martial artist. Taking to Instagram, striking coach Duke Roufus announced that he is currently training Brooks for his next fight.
“Back in #PunkCamp with my man @cmpunk #cmpunk working hard & getting better every day. Working on his next Fight.”
