The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has just announced a barn burner welterweight main event between two former UFC champions.
Making his way up the UFC’s 170 pound ranks, former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos in currently in the midst of a two-fight winning streak. The former champion left the lightweight division after two consecutive losses, first to Eddie Alvarez, and then to Tony Ferguson. He has since bounced back with back to back wins at welterweight over Tarec Saffediene and Neil Magny.
Former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler defeated Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in July. It was his first win since losing his title to current welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in July of last year.
The UFC took to Twitter to announce the new fight for their December 16 return to Canada.
