The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is still making preparations for UFC 218. The event is set to see UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway attempt to make his first title defense as he takes on former UFC champion Frankie “The Answer” Edgar.
While the night’s main event is still secure, UFC 218 recently had a change in one of the lightweight bouts set for the fight card.
UFC lightweights Al Iaquinta and Paul Felder were set to face off for division dominance at UFC 218. However, Iaquinta has since been pulled from the event due to a recent injury. As a result, Felder was left with a match up for the upcoming fight card. Now it would appear that the fighter has landed a new opponent.
As reported by MMA Junkie, Charles Oliveira will now be taking on Paul Felder at the highly anticipated event.
Oliveira last fought at UFC 210 where he submitted former Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks in the first round via rear naked choke. Prior to that he’d dropped two straight fights at featherweight to Ricardo Lamas and Anthony Pettis.
UFC 218 goes down Dec. 2 inside the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan and will be available live on pay-per-view.
