Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson was on the wrong end of a close split decision to Patricky “Pitbull” at Bellator 183. Benson Henderson is currently on a two fight losing streak, including the split decision loss to Freire, making for Henderson’s second consecutive split decision loss. Henderson also dropped a decision to Michael Chandler at Bellator 165, as well his promotional debut against Andrey Koreshkov, and has now lost three of his four fights under the Bellator banner.
Despite the career slump for Henderson, he still has reason to celebrate. The Bellator fighter has gone to social media to reveal that his son has been born.
Over Instagram, Henderson offered the good news:
“Blessings upon blessings!!! We want to thank God for the safe delivery of @kub_henderson. He came exactly 5 weeks early but mama was able to roll with the punches & deliver all-natural, drug free & fierce like the #WorldChamp she is. Our little Kub was 5lbs. 11oz. & 19in. long.
“Him & mama are both doing great recovering at home already with special kisses from our first, @kyung_henderson. I’m not perfect by any means & don’t deserve the perfection that these three are but I’ll always fight to be worthy of their love & respect.”
