Staff and employees of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) find themselves right in the middle of America’s latest tragedy.
That’s because since the ZUFFA era, Las Vegas has been the home of the UFC, and Sunday night their city was under attack.
Leaving several dead and hundreds wounded, the UFC and it’s fighters have all reacted and offered aid to those in need.
The latest UFC fighter to speak out for Las Vegas is none other than “The Notorious” Conor McGregor.
Having fought in Las Vegas several times, including his most recent bout against Floyd Mayweather, McGregor calls Las Vegas his second home.
Often, the UFC champion opts to rent luxurious homes and exotic cars for extended stays in “Sin City” while he prepares for his next big fight.
Now, in a new statement on his verified instagram account, Conor McGregor shares some heartfelt words about Sunday’s tragedy.
He stated, “Absolutely devastated upon hearing the news in Las Vegas. A city with so much energy and life. A city of celebration and enjoyment. A city so close to my heart. I pray for all the victims, their families, and everyone affected by this senseless act of violence.”
Conor McGregor has been expected to return to MMA Action in the coming months. And while many anticipate he will conclude his trilogy against Nate Diaz, McGregor himself has listed several options for his comeback opponent. Paulie Malignaggi, Canelo Alvarez and the winner of this weekend’s Ferguson vs. Lee fight are all being considered by the Irish super-star.
