The crowd for Sao Paulo, Brazil’s UFC Fight Night 119 was in awe after Saturday night’s two big Brazilian competitors suffered tough losses. Derek Brunson put a quick end to the octagon return of Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida by sinking in a knockout victory in the first round of their main event match up. Beyond that, Colby Covington entered a bloody war with Brazil’s own Demian Maia. In the end, Covington earned a unanimous decision victory over the Brazilian. Of course, things did not end their for Covington.
In his post-fight interview, Covington referred to Brazil as a “dump” and the country’s citizens as “filthy animals.” The fighter was quickly rushed out of the arena following the interview and may face disciplinary charges from the UFC for his statement.
All of that in mind, local fight fans were not the only people to be irked by Covington’s statement. Now fighters from Covington’s American Top Team gym have come forward with their thoughts on his statement.
Check out what many of them had to say in the social media posts below:

On the real, how would Americans like if a foreigner came to the US and disrespected the US the way Colby did Brazil?

I guess Americans are allowed to disrespect any country as long as its not America. https://t.co/wxAMuvmdEY

Calling someone's country a dump and it's people animals is disrespectful. Also could be considered racist.
