Tony Ferguson has been on a warpath for the lightweight belt. Having taken out Kevin Lee for the interim title, Ferguson is now looking to unify his newly earned belt in a battle against UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
With “Notorious” coming off of a TKO loss in his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather Jr., fight fans are waiting to see what precisely will be the UFC lightweight champion’s next move. Speaking on the possibility of McGregor soon returning to the octagon to face “El Cucuy,” Daniel Cormier explained that Ferguson will have a tough time with McGregor’s punching power.
Unhappy with the way his statement on the subject was taken by news source MMA Mania, Cormier went to Twitter. The news source recently posted a work titled, “Daniel Cormier says Tony Ferguson will get ‘turned into a baby deer’ against Conor McGregor.”
Here was Cormier’s actual statement from his of Talk and Talker podcast:
“When Conor hits you with a clean shot, it doesn’t affect people like most people’s big shots affect people. It sends you f**kng skating on ice. It turns you into a baby deer, when they can’t stand up and they’re f**kng shaking and sh*t.”
Over Twitter, Cormier retaliated with:
“This is what i actually said. I didn’t say Conor will turn tony into baby deer. That’s twice in regards to shit I’ve said. BS”
