Newly crowned UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has officially called out “Notorious.”
Tony Ferguson has been waiting for his title shot for some time now. The division contender was initially set to face off against Khabib Nurmagomedov for the interim belt at UFC 209. However, “The Eagle” suffered weight management issues that would ultimately force the fighter to be rushed to the hospital, pulling him from the night’s co-main event match up.
That being said, Tony Ferguson finally got his shot at tonight’s UFC 216. Competing in the night’s main event, “El Cucuy” faced off against Kevin Lee. Kevin Lee put on an impressive first round in their match up, but ended the round with a point deducting lat blow.
Tony Ferguson responded with a vengeance in the second round, as Kevin Lee began to show signs of being gassed. Working his opponent down, Ferguson would go on earn a submission victory over his opponent.
After the interim title earning performance, Ferguson made a call out to reigning UFC lightweight champion Conor “Notorious” McGregor. Watch Ferguson make a call out to “McNuggets” in the video below.
