Following Three Fight Cancellations, Here Tonight’s Updated UFC 216 Fight Card

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has suffered a few losses to its upcoming fight card. Tonight’s UFC 216 event will be starting a little later than expected, as another fight has been pulled from the night’s main card.

First to be lost from the card, Paige VanZant recently suffered an injury that forced the fighter to pull out of her scheduled match up against Jessica Eye in the UFC’s new female flyweight division. Also missing from the card, Nik Lentz suffered weight cut issues for yesterday’s official weigh-ins. As a result, the fighter’s bout against Will Brooks has since been removed from the night’s card. Now, with only moments until the fight night was ready to begin, a main card match up has been pulled from UFC 216.

UFC’s Jon Anik took to Twitter to reveal that UFC heavyweights Fabricio Werdum and Derrick Lewis will no longer be competing on tonight’s main card.

“Fabricio Werdum v. Derrick Lewis is off due to an injury to one of the fighters. First fight now 4PM PT. #UFC216”
