Former UFC middleweight contender Gegard Mousasi was unable to reach an agreement with the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion when his contract reached its end earlier this year. As a result, the fighter decided to try out free agency. Now, Mousasi fights under the competing Bellator MMA banner.
The fighter recently made his Bellator debut at Bellator 185, taking on Alexander Shlemenko. The fight turned out to be a brutal war that ultimately went the distance, leaving many fans unsure of the victor. In the end, Mousasi was granted a unanimous decision victory.
On today’s edition of The MMA Hour, MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani told Gegard Mousasi that fellow former UFC contender turned Bellator star Rory MacDonald believed Mousasi lost all three rounds in his fight. In response, Mousasi had some choice words of his own for the “Red King.”
“Rory MacDonald can get it himself. Let him win his fight and then let him talk. He shouldn’t talk. He’s an idiot. He looks like a mass murderer. He should shut his mouth.”
Rory MacDonald is set to take on Bellator welterweight champion Douglas Lima on Jan. 20 inside The Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
