GSP Sets The Record Straight On Potential Fight With McGregor … And He’s Not Interested In Fighting Little Guys

Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre is making a return to the octagon at UFC 217, after nearly four years away from the sport. Moving up in weight, “Rush” will be making his return in a pay-per-view headliner with UFC middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping on Nov. 4. That being said, fight fans are already talking about what will be next for the former welterweight champion.

One recent rumor is that Georges St-Pierre will go on to fight UFC megastar Conor McGregor, if he defeats “The Count” at UFC 217. However, it would appear that St-Pierre is actually not interested in moving down in weight to take on the lightweight champion.

Speaking to ESPN, Georges St-Pierre explained:

“Everything is possible, but everybody is targeting Conor McGregor because the money. He’s the money fight. But, I don’t challenge guys that compete in lower weight class divisions. For me, I don’t do that. I’m going up to fight Michael Bisping now.

“He’s an amazing fighter. It would be an amazing honor, but I don’t know. If the fans want it and he wants it maybe it will happen. But, right now, I’m focused on Bisping.”
