Joe Rogan Discusses Chuck Liddell’s MMA Comeback

Rumors have been swirling that UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell may be making a return to mixed martial arts. Former UFC competitor Chael Sonnen has gone out of his way to call out the MMA legend, but received a lukewarm response from “The Iceman.” Now UFC commentating veteran Joe Rogan has decided to add his thoughts on the matter.

Liddell has been an executive vice president of business development in the UFC for seven years. However, the Hall of Famer has since been let go from the position. Liddell has claimed that the position was initially promised as being for life, but it would appear that was simply not the case. Speaking on his podcast Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan revealed that Liddell is talking about returning to MMA. The commentator then hinted that the recent job loss may be the reason behind the decision.

“Chuck Liddell is talking about making a comeback now. Liddell is talking about making a comeback at 48 and I think he has been out of the fight game for at least five for six years. The UFC gave him a no show job for a while and they said ‘Look, you don’t have to work. Just come in and do some events every now and then. You get a chunk of money every month.’ So, he was living off that and doing really well with that. But then the UFC sold. When the UFC sold, they killed those jobs.”
