Will Brooks Blasts Nik Lentz Hard For Today’s Cancelled UFC 216 Fight, Isn’t Buying “Medical” Excuses

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be short one of its lightweight match ups for tomorrow night’s UFC 216 event.

Nik Lentz has been pulled from the event after no-showing today’s weigh-ins for medical reasons. As a result Lentz cannot compete on the night’s card and with only 24-hours notice that means Will Brooks is also out of a fight.

Now Will Brooks, Lentz’s scheduled opponent, has come forward with some heated words for the fighter.

Will Brooks decided to take to Twitter to offer his thoughts on the recent news. Here is what Brooks had to say:

“There was no medical issues. Stop with this BS ‘medical issues’ excuse. He quit and that’s all it was.”

UFC 216 will take place tomorrow night inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. and will be available via pay-per-view, with the night’s preliminary card appearing on FS1. In the night’s main event, lightweight contenders Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee will face off for the interim title. Of course, Kevin Lee had a weigh-in scare of his own today.

Kevin Lee did not approach the scales until just moments before the weigh-in deadline. Initially missing weight by a single pound, Lee was given an extra hour to lose the weight. Kevin Lee has since made weight for tomorrow night’s main event.
