UFC Fighters React To Kevin Lee’s UFC 216 Title Fight Missed Weight Scare

The official weigh-ins for tomorrow’s UFC 216 took place earlier today and the event had a little scare, as one of the night’s headliners nearly missed weight. Following Kevin Lee’s near failure at the weigh-ins, fighters have taking to social media to give their opinions on the situation.

The UFC 216 pay-per-view event goes down tomorrow night, Oct 7., inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. In the night’s main event, UFC lightweight contenders Kevin Lee and Tony Ferguson will face off for the interim title. With the event only a day away, the UFC hosted the official weigh-ins earlier today.

Kevin Lee was the last fighter to hit the scales, waiting just moments before the weigh-in deadline to do so. Lee came in a single pound overweight. As Ferguson and Lee were set to face off in a title fight, it was paramount that Lee make weight if he wished to have a chance at the title. As a result, Kevin Lee was granted an extra hour to try to make the weight.

In the end, Lee managed to make weight. Still, UFC fighters have been going to Twitter to give their thoughts on the situation. See what some of the promotion’s top competitors had to say about Kevin Lee’s near weigh-in debacle in the posts below.
