Alistair Overeem: ‘It’s All About Testosterone’

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is getting ready to put on anther show for fight fans. This time around, the mixed martial arts promotion is heading to Detroit, Michigan on Saturday night, Dec. 2, for UFC 218. The big pay-per-view event will take place inside the Little Caesars Palace and will feature a series of exciting fights.

In the night’s co-main event, UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem and Fancis Ngannou will throw down. Overeem is on a two fight winning streak, with a recent majority decision victory over former champion Fabricio Werdum. Ngannou is still undefeated within the octagon, as the fighter is on a five fight winning streak under the UFC banner.

With the fight now only days away, the UFC has decided to release the second episode of the UFC 218 Embedded: Vlog Series. In the episode, Overeem can be seen speaking to Matt Serra and Jim Norton about testosterone as a part of the male ego and the will to compete.

When asked what keeps him motivated to fight, Overeem responded “In the end, it’s always the ego. It’s testosterone, seeing who’s the strongest and who’s the biggest. I’m very competitive. I want to win.”
