UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt earned his title with a stunning unanimous decision victory over Dominick Cruz at UFC 207. Now the fighter is set to make his first title defense, as “No Love” gets ready to co-headline UFC 217.
For his first title defense, Garbrandt will be taking on a former teammate. T.J. Dillashaw was once a member of Team Alpha Male alongside “No Love.” However, Dillashaw departed from the training camp shortly after earning his bantamweight title. The two fighters have been in a heated rivalry ever since.
With UFC 217 only a day away, Garbrandt and Dillashaw got one last chance to meet face-to-face before their big title fight battle in Saturday night’s pay-per-view event at today’s ceremonial weigh-ins.
At the weigh-ins, the two fighters entered a heated staredown that ended with Garbrandt telling his opponent “Your jaw is going to be f**ked up. You better be ready for it.”
