Dana Officially Shuts Down McGregor: ‘We are not going to co-promote with anyone!’

Earlier this week UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor came out and said he’s demanding a promoter’s check for his return to the UFC.

And that all sounds like a great thing for Conor, but the UFC has NEVER co-promoted an event. And it’s not because people or entities have not tried in the past, it’s simply because they don’t do it.

Conor though, didn’t get that memo, and while at the premier of his new film stated, “We’ll see. We’re in the process of negotiations, there’s a couple of opponents across different sports now in play, there’s the boxing game also.”

The UFC superstar then explained that he wished to be a “true partner” with the UFC in his next fight.

“We’re in the contract negotiation stage. It’s got to, they’ve got to entice me now because, I came from a billion-dollar fight. I want equity, I want pay-per-view. I want to be a true partner. You have to entice me now. I want to be a partner. I want to be a promoter and I want to be a fighter for me to continue.”

At the UFC 217 pre-fight press conference the UFC president eluded that McGregor’s demands were no big deal.

Now, in a new interview he says there’s just no way Conor’s getting what he wants.
