UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has put on a storied career in the sport of mixed martial arts. With victories over some of the toughest contenders in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the reigning champion has earned a place as one of the top competitors active in the sport. That being said, Cormier achieved a dominant career in wrestling before moving over to mixed martial arts.
Cormier went on to come in fourth place within the 2004 Olympics for freestyle wrestling. Before that, Cormier had a successful experience wrestling in college under Colby Community College and Oklahoma State University. Under Oklahoma State University, Cormier became an all-American when he reached the finals of the 184 pound weight class in 2001.
However the wrestler first began his journey in the sport in high school at Northside High, in which Cormier won 3 Louisiana state championships.
Now Cormier has gone to Instagram to share a photo of himself from back in his high school days of wrestling.
“My goodness I just got this on Twitter. State championships my senior year. My goodness how time flies. Marquita and I have the same face lol. #memories #youngin #louisiana #lhsaa @peechypie I’m the kid in the middle crazies and 189lbs”
